The saw also has an excellent cutting power for branches and even through small tree trunks. Its cutting power has proved sufficient in taking down and bringing back trees where I am working in a wilderness area, so it has served me well where the trees are close to the water line, but not so tall.
The big issue we have with this saw is lifespan. I do have a few small quibbles. Also the saw has a very low noise level even when in the higher range of the chainsaw’s setting.
It handles small and medium trees very well. It gets up to a fair clip, but it tends to chatter. It gets a decent bit of penetration, but its best at cutting limbs at a fair clip, not at cutting deadwood. It tends to work at the lowest speed setting, because of the extra distance it has to travel before contact is made.
I’ve taken some pretty large trees down, and I’ve had no problems with it. It just needs to be treated with more care than I have used it. Overall, it’s a great saw, but it has issues that prevent me from calling it a stand-alone workhorse. For a good saw, for the money, I’d still purchase it, but I’d expect a bit more than I got.
